Research Trends on Constructivism in Early Childhood Education in Korea

    Abstract

    The Purpose of the study is explores the research trends of constructivism in early childhood education. The subject of analysis were 134 constructivism articles in journals published by Korea. The articles were analyzed by research period, research topic, research subject, and data analyzing method. The results showed that 1) each 42 of the total articles on constructivism in early childhood education were published in 2001~2005 and 2005~2010, 2) the most frequent topic was the constructivist pedagogical content of early childhood education 3) over half of the total article (52.5%) targeted young children and 43.9% of the total studies on constructivism in early childhood education used the quantitative method.
